Stress and Anxiety: How it can affect your day-to-day life

Stress and Anxiety. A common issue everybody is facing nowadays, no matter the age or gender, and is a big struggle to handle but we shouldn't let it affect our everyday lives.

There are many ways that Stress and Anxiety could appear and influence our mental and emotional well-being, such as lack of motivation and confidence, over-thinking, and over-analyzing. Letting these negative emotions get ahold of your mental health could have a much worse impact than you think. Going through this may also be a result of easily losing an opportunity on enjoying time for yourself or with others as well.

Stress and Anxiety have a few mental and physical signs on the individual which they should also be aware of. The first most common, yet visible sign, is Hair Loss and also known as "Trichotillomania", is a condition where an individual pulls on their hair, sometimes without realizing it themselves.

The second visible sign is Skin Irritation and Skin Breakout. With this condition, caused mainly by Stress, the skin becomes more sensitive and oily which in fact can also cause some pre-existing skin problems-such problems such as acne- to have difficulty healing. When it comes to mental signs of Stress and Anxiety, Lack of Sleep and a Rapid Heartbeat are something you should be aware of. Lack of sleep could lower our immune system and mildly impact our health, which can result in the vulnerability of our bodies to illnesses and can almost immediately affect our moods, and energy levels and disrupt our ability to focus.

A rapid heartbeat is mostly accompanied by a fight or flight mechanism. Mix it with some Anxiety and you get "Sinus Tachycardia". When you have Tachycardia and Anxiety together, you are most likely focused and aware of the way that your heart is beating at that exact moment which is also known as "Hypersensitivity".

As a result, Stress and Anxiety are also causes of skipped heartbeats as well. Thankfully, having these types of "heartbeats" is not extremely dangerous, but if one experiences this it could be scary and could cause more anxiety to them.

Lastly, we will mention some simple yet efficient ways and mechanisms to handle your Stress and Anxiety. The first way is to learn and control your breathing, aka Meditation.

Having some time to focus on yourself and focusing on your mind and body will be a very big help for your mental state and will help you reduce your levels of Stress and Anxiety. It is shown that it has a massive effect on reducing both the psychological and physical symptoms of Anxiety and it helps put a stop to any sudden panic attacks or sudden episodes.

As a source of Distraction from your Anxiety, Physical Activities and Hobbies are a way to go. From taking a picture of your favorite landscapes with photography to taking care of your favorite plants, flowers, and cactuses by adapting and gaining the hobby of gardening and many more, your Anxiety and Stress will slowly wear off as time and days pass by.

As we come to the end of this article, we come to realize that not everyone is going through the same effects and difficulties when it comes to Stress and Anxiety.

Each person may react differently, whether it be difficult or easy for the individual, therefore keeping your calm and being in the right mindset at the right time may help fight these emotions with ease.
