The young French designer of the luxury brand 'jacquemus', Simon Porte Jacquemus, is a 31-year-old self-taught designer who made his way into the fashion industry when he was 19.
Gets inspired by French archetypal concepts and has a sense of freedom in each garment with lots of asymmetrical designs and hemlines.
The main target of this brand is Parisian minimalism and the designer achieves that with a neutral palette and simple designs for his garments. Simon includes his own twist by creating oversized pieces or creating his designs that way so models would appear on the runway either shoeless or topless. The vibe gets quite contemporary, looking laid-back and carefree with a bit of playfulness, with the mini signature bags Simon designed.
By using natural materials such as wool, cotton, and linen but also accomplishing the SS20 runway in a field full of lavender in Provence, attracting more people who like such collections and garments. The brand started getting more recognition in 2019 and by 2021, Simon accomplished a runway similar to the SS20, in the french Vexin Regional National Park with the guest surrounded by fields of wheat.
